Sometimes the name you were born with is a curse. The black bat tried not to let the teasing hurt his feelings but it did. He could still hear the other young bats say, “Let Rocky go first because if a hawk comes after us he can live FOREVER.” Near the Fey he grew up a kind and caring member of the colony. The female bats liked him because of his charm. It didn’t take him long to understand that his last name would be helpful. “I am forever yours,” he would say with a smile and the girls would giggle. One night he came upon a wild strange looking woman dancing by a campfire. She had bright pink hair and blue skin. An elven cloak hung off of her back and fairy shoes with bells jingled. The way she sang and danced mesmerized him. He couldn’t get her out of his mind as he left. Several nights he came back to watch before she noticed his head nodding to the beat of the music up in a tree. “What is your name, the bat who watches in silence?” “Rocky Forever,” he answered, lowering his head slightly. “Well Rocky I think you should come down here and be my friend forever,” she laughed and motioned for him to join the fun. Rocky flew down and circled the campfire flapping his wings to the music. “My name is Lucinda and I think you are my good luck charm.” Rocky smiled and the two of them sang and danced the rest of the night. When morning came Rocky left and Lucinda went to sleep. Months went by as the two of them enjoyed life and their friendship grew. On night during a full moon the two of them were dancing and singing by the campfire when Lucinda tripped and yelled, "Rocky help!" The flames engulfed her. Rocky flew over to try to save her but the fire wasn’t any campfire. Lucinda had summoned the secret flames and they both floated above the coals until their bodies morphed into souls. Lucinda turned into Shade Spectre of the Spike and Rocky turned into a ghost bat.
