Shadow Rising

Dwog was the top warrior in his village of Plumville. He first wielded a sword at the age of 3 and never stopped training since. He would help with hunting game, and fending off enemies and magical beasts. However, since the Shadows appeared in the world, the dark energy started corrupting humans and beasts alike, and those who were weak got corrupted the most. The corrupted would act erratically and violently, and were more powerful in battle with higher regenerative abilities. Soon the casualties in Plumville started to rise. Dwog and his familiar, a null goat, were mostly uncorrupted though. However, the corrupted were brutal in battle, and his weapons and armor were losing durability. Also, many plum trees were dying from the dark energy, which were a main source of food for the village.

Seeing a bleak future, Dwog consulted the village elder for any last hope. The elder brought up the story of a legendary immortal pyromancer that lives in the Abyss many miles from the village, and suggest to seek his help, but warned that he's also very dangerous.

Thus, Dwog and his goat embarked on a journey towards the Abyss.
