The nights

of Scryer Huizhong of the Cosmos began with the glimmer of stars twinkling above the peaks of the Shaolin Mountains. As a monk living in the ancient temple nestled amidst these rugged landscapes, Huizhong's life was characterised by discipline and devotion. Each night he greeted the dark silence in quiet reverence, his movements fluid and purposeful as he practised the ancient art of Shaolin Kung Fu.

One night, while exploring the depths of the temple library, Scryer Huizhong stumbled across a yellowed parchment scroll hidden among dusty folios and scrolls. He was immediately drawn to it, and unfolded the parchment to reveal delicate calligraphy describing the forgotten traditions of his ancestors – the art of brewing beer! As Huizhong immersed himself in the ancient text, he felt a stirring in his soul, a deep resonance with the heritage of his ancestors.

The parchment told of a time when brewing was more than just a practical skill – it was a sacred ritual, a communion with the elements. Huizhong was thrilled to learn from the herbs and grains gathered from the mountain meadows, from the pure water that flowed from hidden springs, and from the gentle touch of the wind that carried wisdom through the valleys.

Scryer Huizhong was thrilled at the prospect of rediscovering this forgotten tradition. He sought out the elder monks of the temple to learn more about the art of brewing beer. With their guidance, he embarked on an incredible journey of discovery, immersing himself in the secrets of fermentation and alchemy that had been passed down through generations. Every step of the process was filled with meaning, from the careful selection of ingredients to the fermenting vats.

As Scryer Huizhong's brewing skills flourished, word of his endeavours spread beyond the temple walls, attracting curious villagers from nearby settlements. They were drawn in by the tantalising aroma of his concoctions and the warmth of his hospitality, eager to taste the fruits of his labour in the temple courtyard.

Guided by Huizhong, brewing became so much more than just a craft. It became a bridge between the temple and the surrounding community, a shared experience that united people from all walks of life.

As the seasons changed and the years rolled by, Huizhong's reputation as the master brewer of Shaolin grew. His beer became known far beyond the temple's borders for its unrivalled quality and flavour. Yet despite the praise and admiration, he remained humble, ever aware that the ancient traditions that had guided him had defined his journey.

As the sun sank behind the horizon and cast long shadows across the temple courtyard, Scryer Huizhong of the Cosmos stood at the centre of it all – a guardian of tradition, a master of his craft and a beacon of light in a world of darkness. And as he raised his tankard in silent homage to the generations that had gone before him, he knew that his journey was far from over – for in the timeless dance of brewing, there was always another story to be told, and he was eager to discover it ...
