Before Shivra turned to the shadows, she was a simple woman—if you can call a witch simple.
Perhaps it was because she had always led a somewhat reclusive life; she never liked to be the center of attention, unless it involved spellbooks and stories. Especially old, long-forgotten stories that had only survived in books. Time and again, she traveled to distant parts of the world to visit the places mentioned in these books. Sometimes, she could still see traces of great battles and struggles in nature, and that always fascinated her. She wanted to know more.
So, she turned more and more to books and traveled to the great libraries, where there were not only old but also new stories—accounts of battles, confrontations with shadow figures, and legends passed down through generations. Many said these were just stories meant to frighten people or provide entertainment.
Shivra herself was unsure whether to believe in these shadow creatures, as no one had ever actually seen them. She hadn't been home for a long time, and when she was, it was only briefly. She never stayed long in any one place, always driven by a restless urge to explore the unknown parts of the world. She wanted to be somewhere on the edge of the known world, where no one could predict her movements. So, Shivra set out, expecting great things—expecting great adventures.
Years later, when Shivra was seen again in her homeland, people immediately noticed that she had changed somehow. But what exactly was different, they could not say. As Shivra settled back into her home, rumors began to spread. People whispered and gossiped behind her back. They said she had done terrible things or had turned to black magic and was now plotting dark deeds, though no one knew exactly what those deeds were. But the rumors never stopped.
Eventually, the whispers and suspicions grew too much, and Shivra faded into the shadows, disappearing from her hometown, never to be seen again.
