A Reclusive and Peaceful Brown Cow
Augurer Brown Cow of Mu is a reclusive Canaanite who lives in a simple hut on the outskirts of Brown Wizard Delta and north of Rabbit Lake.
It is said that she entered this world as a simple dairy cow, and became enchanted and transformed through a magical accident.
Despite inheriting powerful magic, she is a peaceful and warm-hearted creature, as she was in her previous life. She keeps hidden because she knows that peaceful and warm-hearted creatures tend to get used by those with material ambitions.
But, she is a creature of profoundly deep intuition. If one with a kind heart should cross her path in search of guidance, she will provide it.
If one with a vile heart should cross her path, well, she's an ambulatory cow with horns who can cast spells, no pushover. Her first line of defense is sensing and anticipating the moves of those who would harm her and altering the path of fate to prevent those potential situations from coming to reality.
If she fails in that, well she's got a magical deck of cards at her disposal. She prefers to use these to guide others in finding happiness. But, she has a lot of time to practice alone in the woods. She's become adept at using her cards to cast protective wards and defensive spells. If those are not enough, she can use the cards to show her aggressors the things that they don't want to see - to trap them in their own nightmares, which can be quite distracting, destabilizing, and harmful. Finally, she's learned a few card tricks such as supercharging them with mana and sending them towards her attackers at blinding speeds.
She had enough pain in her former lifetime as cattle. Now she has many tools that allow her to avoid being on the receiving end.
She is content to tend to her garden, watch the stars, and sip tea in her cottage with pet cat Bijou curled up in her lap. She has no need to leave home to stay abreast of the happenings in the runiverse, for the visions and ebbings of fate come to her at all times. While her body sleeps at night her soul travels to the interdimensional infinite library of the akashic records. There she browses and catalogues entries of interest.
The brown wizards of the delta generally respect her wish for privacy and solutide. But they also seek her out occassionally for tidings on the coming and going of seasons and happenings in other lands that may ripple their effects across the delta. She obliges in exchange for teas, cakes, trinkets, books, and the like.
Brown Cow knows that her gift is just that, a sacred gift, not something to be commercialized or sold. But, she was used and abused and would have eventually ended up as someones breakfast in her past life, so now she asks an equal exchange in return for her guidance. She owes that to herself.
And besides, comfy robes and cookies don't pay for themselves.
