"We must leave at once! If we are to have any chance at finding the ancient shadow crystals before it's too late, we must prepare a team and delay no further!" Rockefeller was a large & imposing man. His younger look was not to fool: in truth he was old beyond his looks.

Nearly fifty years of leading the Rangers of the northern watchtower had hardened him. He wasn't shy to speak his mind, nor was he gentle. "In a matter of weeks, these shadow creatures could be upon us. Our scout party is going to need that much time and more, just to locate the ancient shadow crystal, never mind, return them here, to us. And already, midsummer has last and the days are getting shorter." Rockefeller surveyed the room. None would meet his gaze. "Who will lead this party?"
